New Suffolk School Pétanque Day!
May 23, 2017On a beautiful Tuesday afternoon in May, New Suffolk School students and Coach Finn were introduced to the French game of pétanque on our community court by the ballfield. Sam Bernett, (expert French player from the Jardin du Luxembourg Pétanque Club in Paris, France) -- assisted by Yvonne Boutges and Michelle Roussan -- introduced the children to the basic skills of the game.
After a session of drills, students were divided into teams and played a real game. It was an afternoon of great fun and we are looking forward to more sessions together! It would be wonderful to provide petanque balls for the students, and anyone who would like to contribute to a fund for this purpose should email Michelle Roussan at mroussan@optimum.net.
